A Reivew of Sarah J. Maas' A Court of Wings and Ruin, book 3 in the ACOTAR series.

When I sat down to read this book, I was more than aware of the fact that people gave it really good reviews. But I didn't think that it would have me wanting to just read and read until my eyes ached! ACOWAR is book 3 in the ACOTAR series, which, in my opinion, started off kinda rough. I wasn't extremely interested by ACOTAR, but I loved ACOMAF. And this book...holy crap. It had me on the edge of my seat the entire time, and even the conversations that occurred in the book and brought about deeper understanding of the amazing world that SJ Mass has created were not boring in the slightest.
The characters that you've come to know and love by this point in the series, from Feyre and Rhysand to Cassian, Azriel, Mor, Amren, Elain and Nesta grow and develop so wonderfully in this book. Even characters like Tamlin and Lucien develop on a deeper level as well. Even the enemies of the protagonists are created with care - you absolutely love to hate them.
Before reading this book, I preferred the Throne of Glass series. Now, ACOTAR is my favorite series by SJ Maas. The world she created, from the characters to the scenery, leaps right off the page. I stayed up until the early hours of the morning in order to finish the last 200 pages of this book because I simply could not imagine trying to sleep without knowing what had happened to the characters that I came to love so much. For a few hours last night, I was no longer laying on my bed in California, USA. Rather, I was trudging through battlefields and sitting beside Azriel and Mor in meetings with the High Lords of Prythian. This book, this series in fact, has reminded me why I fell in love with reading. Why I want to become an author. If you're a reader who loves magic, mystery, plot twists, and characters that will make you both laugh and cry, then this series is one that I wholeheartedly recommend!
A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas - 5 out of 5 stars
